Billionaire businessmen Mukesh Ambani and Azim Premji will be meeting US President Barack Obama on Friday.

The meeting with Obama, who assumed office less than a month ago, comes in the backdrop of the global financial turmoil.

Ambani would be accompanied by his wife Nita. When contacted, an RIL [Get Quote] spokesperson confirmed that Ambani, along with his wife, would be meeting Obama. The meeting is scheduled to be held at 9 am local time (Washington) on Friday.

Reportedly, both Ambani and Premji are part of the 'The Business Council' delegation. The council is an association of prominent chief executives from different organisations across the world.

Moreover, Premji's scheduled meeting with Obama gains importance in the wake of the President's stance on outsourcing jobs from the US.

The Obama administration sees India as a main partner in South Asia and has evinced keen interest in taking Indo-US ties further.
