A day after withdrawal of low fares by some major airlines, Jet Airways [Get Quote] and its low-cost subsidiary JetLite have introduced Rs 300 and Re 1 as basic fares respectively under 30-day advance purchase scheme.

These fares will be valid for sale with immediate effect until April 30 on both carriers, Jet said in a statement.

Passengers will have to pay all applicable taxes and fuel surcharges extra.

Jet and JetLite had introduced a 21-day advanced purchase fare of Rs 250 and Rs 9 respectively as base price in the beginning of the year. The offer was valid for bookings until January 31.

Meanwhile, the full-service carrier has also announced a new daily service from Coimbatore and Kochi to Chennai, enhancing the airlines existing services to Tamil Nadu's capital from the two southern cities.

The new services will be same-day return flights on the Coimbatore-Chennai and Kochi-Chennai sectors with an all- economy seat configuration in ATR 72-500 aircraft. From Chennai, passengers can connect to the airlines daily services.
