History, it seems, repeats itself, at least as far as shareholding pattern of Reliance Natural Resources [Get Quote] Limited is concerned.

The company Chairman Anil Ambani's elder son holds equity worth crores while the younger one holds a paltry 100 shares.

The issue came up for discussion at the company's annual general meeting. A shareholder pointed out that 17-year-old Anmol owned close to 17 crore shares as against his 13-year-old brother Anshul's 100 shares and asked Ambani the reason for this discrepancy.

Pat came the reply from Ambani, who had fought a rugged battle with his elder brother Mukesh over the ownership of Reliance empire a few years ago, "Now you know what happens to the younger one in a family."

Anoml's shares at Tuesday's closing price are worth Rs 13.21 crore (Rs 132.1 million) while Anshul's holding in the company is less than Rs 8,000.

Possibly, it is too early for the two to understand the difference between their respective ownership.

At the close of the trading on Tuesday, RNRL was quoted at Rs 79.15 a share that puts the company's worth at Rs 12,926.23 crore (Rs 129.26 billion) even after the over 2.5 per cent slide in the value of the scrip.
