APB mulls new brands in value segment

Asia Pacific Breweries, which introduced premium beer brands such as Tiger Beer and Barons in the country in the past year, is now mulling to foray into the value segment, dominated by players like United Breweries [Get Quote] and Carlsberg.

Talking about the company's portfolio expansion, APB-India CEO Ashwin Deo said, "Currently, we are looking at consolidating our presence and will look at introducing new products at various price points in the next eight to 10 months."

APB has three brands of beer - Cannon 10000, Barons and Tiger - in the domestic market ranging from Rs 68 to Rs 75.

However, globally it has a portfolio of over 40 beers and enjoys an extensive reach across different market segments in different countries.
