Finance Minister P Chidambaram presented the Union Budget for 2008-09 in the Lok Sabha on February 29.

Mohan Natarajan answers, The increase in short term capital gains tax will motivate investors to hold shares for longer period. The change in treatment of STT may affect people who trade in the market on very short moves. For e.g. arbitrageurs and day traders.

Mohan Natarajan answers, Pantaloons (I presume this is the stock) is a good play in the retail sector. So worth holding on to. J P Associates is a good real estate play, expect that there has been some recent untoward news about holding in a subsidiary company. RNRL and Rel Petro are good long term shares.
