Even as the Tata Nano went on display at the Auto Expo on January 10, a survey by Invest India Market Solutions (IIMS Dataworks) shows that as many as 12.8 million Indian households can be potential buyers for entry-level cars in the years to come, 1.6 million of them in 2008 alone.

Do you think Tata Nano has the potential to attract so many buyers? Or will the rising cost of fuel, lack of proper roads, and the rising demand for high quality products might lead to few people buying the small wonder from the Tata Motors [Get Quote] stable?

What is your take on small cars? Do you think small cars have huge potential in India? Or do you feel otherwise? Will the launch of small car help the middle class realise its dream of owing a four-wheeler?
