Effecting its first top level change at the Corus in London, Tata Steel [Get Quote] on Friday appointed Uday Kumar Chaturvedi, Vice President, Coke, Sinter & Iron, Jamshedpur, as the new Managing Director of Corus Strip Products UK with effect from April 1.

Along with Chaturvedi two other changes have also been made. Both the changes will come into effect from March 1.

While Chaturvedi would be based at Port Talbot in Wales, Henrar would be in IJmuiden, where he is also the site manager of Corus. Loudon would function out of IJmuiden in the Netherlands.

Marjan Oudeman, Director, Corus Strip Products Division, said: "I am delighted to announce these appointments to the Strip Product Division Team, which are a major step in having the division ready for the continuing challenges of the industry and the continued integration process with Tata Steel "I am confident that our division is now supported by a strong and highly experienced team, who will work together to deliver our full potential, as we continue to build on our ambitions as part of one of the most profitable and leading players in the global steel industry."

All three would report to Oudeman.

Corus is a subsidiary of Tata Steel, the world's sixth largest steel producer. With the acquisition of Corus last year, the combined enterprise has an aggregate crude steel production capacity of about 28.1 million tonnes with 82,700 employees across the four continents.
