Cutting across party lines, Maharashtra BJP unit President Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday extended wholehearted support to State Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh on his offer to eminent industrialist Ratan Tata to set up his dream project 'Nano' car plant in the state.

"On the issue of development of state, we are all with the government," Gadkari, a former opposition leader in the State Legislative Council, told reporters in Nagpur on Wednesday.

He said  Deshmukh has offered to extend Tata, a red carpet treatment if he decides to shift from Singur in West Bengal.

Tata had threatened to pull out of West Bengal if the industrial atmosphere wasn't conducive and his men and machinery were not safe due to constant protests and threats.

Gadkari said Nagpur in particular and Vidarbha in general would be an ideal location for Tata's Nano plant since it is close to Jamshedpur where Tatas have industrial units.
