Offer to Tata: Gadkari supports Deshmukh August 27, 2008 16:17 IST
"On the issue of development of state, we are all with the government," Gadkari, a former opposition leader in the State Legislative Council, told reporters in Nagpur on Wednesday. He said Deshmukh has offered to extend Tata, a red carpet treatment if he decides to shift from Singur in West Bengal. Tata had threatened to pull out of West Bengal if the industrial atmosphere wasn't conducive and his men and machinery were not safe due to constant protests and threats. Gadkari said Nagpur in particular and Vidarbha in general would be an ideal location for Tata's Nano plant since it is close to Jamshedpur where Tatas have industrial units.
