Kerala's rubber tappers to get insurance cover

Eligible rubber tappers can apply for the group insurance-cum-deposit saving scheme implemented by the Rubber Board for tapping labourers in small rubber plantations.

The tappers working in small plantations of not less than one acre and for which Plantation Labour Act ,1951, is not applicable are eligible to join the scheme.

The applicants should be of the age group 18 to 51. Their monthly income should not exceed Rs 5,000. Application forms and other details can be obtained from the head office of the Rubber Board at Kottayam and other regional offices.

The applications duly filled up should reach the Assistant Director (Labour Management), Rubber Board, Kottayam -2 before October 15.
