The Dubai-based Landmark Group is in the process of bringing in more foreign brands into India, in addition to the four foreign brands they have already tied up with for India operations.

LMG Brands India Ltd's executive director Fazle A Naqvi said on Wednesday they were going to launch a foreign women's footwear brand by the end of this calendar year.

Naqvi said they were also looking at launching other foreign accessories brands.

The company, however, refused to comment on the reports that Landmark was planning to buy the UK-based retailer New Look.

The women's footwear brand for which Landmark will be the licensee will be in the mid-market segment. The retailer will compete with Indian footwear brands like Soles and Citywalk.

At present, LMG has tied up with foreign brands like Kappa, Springfield, Bossini and the most recent launch of Joseph Seibel.

The German footwear brand Joseph Seibel was launched only 10 days ago and the company is planning to launch 25 exclusive stores in the top 10 cities within the next one year. The brand is priced between Rs 2,500-3,000.

LMG has 30 stores including all the four brands in India right now and they are going to add six more stores every month. They will also add five more malls to their Lifestyle chain this year from the present 12.
