Wind power major Suzlon Energy [Get Quote] on Wednesday said it has bagged a contract from California-based Edison Mission Group for supply of 300 turbines.

US-based Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation, the step-down subsidiary of Suzlon Energy, has signed a contract for a total of 300 units of S88-2.1 MW turbines amounting to 630 MW of wind turbine capacity with the Edison Mission Group, Suzlon Energy informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The company, however, did not disclose the financial details of the deal. The two phase contract calls for delivery of 315 MW of turbine capacity in 2008 and another 315 MW of capacity in 2009, it added.

In May, Suzlon Energy had acquired German wind turbine manufacturer REpower after the French nuclear energy group Areva decided to withdraw from the bidding contest.
