Will Finance Minister P Chidambaram tax the salaried class more, or will he spare it, this time?

Popular perception is that the salaried sections are the easiest to tax and each finance minister has proceeded to milk this cow dry.

Studies show that there is low compliance among non-salaried sections of the society when it comes to paying income tax, but the he salaried bear the brunt of this regressive tax system. Thus, whenever the government needs to increase revenue it goes after the easiest target - the salaried class.

With rising prices and interest rates, the gap between the rich and the salaried class too is widening. While the rich and business classes often escape the tax net, there is no respite to the hard working salaried class.

What are your views on this issue? Do you think the salaried class suffers the most?

What would you suggest to make life easier for the salaried people? Tell us!
