Over the years, many finance ministers have played their role in shaping the economy.

While Morarji Desai donned the FM's hat thrice, Indira Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru  and V P Singh also looked after the finance portfolio.

Since the economic reforms began in 1991, 16 Union Budgets have been presented by four finance ministers -- Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram, Yashwant Sinha and Jaswant Singh.

Manmohan Singh, P Chidambaram and Yashwant Sinha presented 5 Budgets each, while Jaswant Singh presented one Budget -- excluding his interim Budget in 2004 before the general elections.

P Chidambaram is all set to present the next Budget on February 28.
