You may be able to make mobile phone calls while flying soon. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation may allow domestic airlines to let passengers use mobile phones and access mail on PDAs in-flight.

The DGCA is reviewing tests by the US-based Federal Aviation Administration and European Air Safety Agency on mobile phone usage during flying. Domestic airlines will be given permission if EASA and FAA clear the applications of international airlines.

What do you think of this move? Do you think it's a good idea to let passengers use mobiles in-flight?

What do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of this? Tell us your views and suggestions.
