Cola: Kerala to seek legal opinion

The Kerala government would file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the high court order quashing the ban on the sale and production of Coca-Cola and Pepsi, State Law Minister M Vijayakumar told the assembly on Monday.

Replying to a submission on the issue, Vijayakumar said the government banned the products as per law and it had not done anything illegal.

A division bench, comprising Chief Justice V K Bali and Justice M Ramachandran, on September 22, set aside the August 10 order of the state government banning the manufacture and sale of products of the two softdrinks' majors.
