Anil Ambani names 3 group MDs

Kausik Datta in Mumbai | October 27, 2006 01:37 IST

Reliance-Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group has created a senior leadership team by appointing three group managing directors.

The three are Amitabh Jhunjhunwala, Gautam Doshi and Satish Seth. They will report to group Chairman Anil Ambani.

The leadership team might be expanded in the future by inducting more directors from within the group and outside.

This is a first-of-its-kind initiative since the group's formation. It had launched a new logo and brand identity in May this year.

Confirming this development, R-ADAG sources said the initiative was aimed at supervising the group's business, cutting across the operations of companies.

Jhunjhunwala is vice-chairman of the group's financial firm, Reliance Capital; Doshi is an additional director of Reliance Communications and Seth is the executive vice-chairman of Reliance Energy.

In addition to finance, infotech, telecommunications and power, the group is involved with entertainment, life and general insurance and the mutual fund businesses.
