Infosys beats expectaions, Q2 net up 16%

Infosys today reported 16.1 per cent jump in its Q2 earnings at Rs 929 crore (Rs 9.29 billion) compared to Rs 800 crore (Rs 8 billion) reported in Q1FY06. In doing so, the company has gone past its own expectaions of Rs 834.05 - 842.31 crore (Rs 8.34 billion - Rs 8.42 billion).

The total revenue in the September quarter grew 14.5 per cent to Rs 3,451 crore (Rs 34.51 billion) from Rs 3,015 crore (Rs 30.15 billion) in the corresponding quarter last year. The company expectations was Rs 3,257 - 3,280 crore (Rs 32.57- 32.8 billion).

The company has also declared an interim dividend of Rs 5 per share.
