Fly Air Deccan at Rs 9; airline opens summer schedule on Nov 12

Budget airlines Air Deccan on Friday announced that reservations for its much-awaited April to June 2007 summer schedules would open on November 12, at fares which begin at Rs 9 (plus taxes).

"In 2006, Air Deccan operated 250 flights in summer and we have upped it to 310 flights for the coming summer. We have added 10 aircraft and introduced 41 new routes," Warwick Brady, chief operating officer of the airline, said in a statement in Bangalore.

Samyukth Sridharan, head of sales and marketing, Air Deccan, said: "This year, the bookings have been opened in advance to ensure that passengers with families can plan in advance and freeze their dates and air fares."

Till date, Air Deccan has carried over 7.3 million passengers to different destinations, the release said.
