Indian telecom regulator's office sealed too!

November 08, 2006 17:36 IST

Work at Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) office on Wednesday came to standstill after Municipal Corporation of Delhi sealed its building as part of the on-going drive being carried out following the directives of Supreme Court.

The MCD sealed the office opposite Bhikaji Cama Place in South Delhi despite repeated requests for extension of time, Trai officials said.

Trai has already identified a new building and work was on to shift the premises, officials said, adding they are planning to approach the apex court to seek an extension.

"We have also spoken to Bhure Lal, member of the Supreme Court-appointed monitoring committee," the officials said.

MCD early on Wednesday resumed the sealing of unauthorized commercial establishments in residential areas following a Supreme Court directive.
