Has corruption declined in India?

Transparency International, the Berlin-based anti-corruption watchdog, says that corruption in India has reduced since the last year. No matter that it holds the dubious distinction of topping the world's bribery list.

For most Indians, corruption is an everyday fact of life: right from trying to beat a minor traffic offence to obtaining a tax refund or even getting your home registered.
