Expressing shock and concern over the blasts in Mumbai and Srinagar, industry chambers on Wednesday said such incidents would not deter foreign investors from pumping their money in India.

"We are confident that the blasts would not affect international confidence in India and urge foreign businesses to continue having faith in Asia's third largest economy," R Seshasayee, CII president said.

Strongly condemning the blasts, industry body Assocham said the government should ensure such acts do not hamper the social and economic stability of the country.

"The central and state governments should take all possible measures to ensure that those responsible for the heinous act are punished," Anil K Agarwal, Assocham president said in a statement, adding that these acts should not deter potential companies from investing in India.
