Sun TV scrip gains 68% on debut

Shares of Sun TV on Monday gained 68 per cent after being listed on the bourses on aggressive buying by funds as well as general investors.

Sun TV Ltd surged Rs 591.05 at Rs 1,466.05, after touching a high level of Rs 1500, and recorded 340 block deals on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange.

About 1.68 crore share exchanged hands on both the bourses on the first day of trading.

The company, which operates Tamil and other regional language satellite channels in the southern region, sold 6.9 crore shares at Rs 875, raising Rs 603 crore in its initial public offer early this month.
