Itz cash not a card! Now you can avail of this unique service, promoted by Intrex India, which comes in denominations starting from Rs 100.

It is a prepaid card with an account number and password, through which one can pay utility bills like electricity, get telephone prepaid card top-ups, do online shopping and book railway tickets. Itz cash card is available at 20,000-odd outlets in the country.

All you need to do is scratch the card for your code and get it punched in for the products or the services that you want, and the amount will be debited from your balance.

The card offers users the cloak of anonymity. So, if you are uncomfortable about using your credit card for online transactions, or do not possess a credit/debit card you have an alternative that suits your requirement.

Customers can dial 1600-221600 or SMS to 7575 to have the card home delivered. These services are also extended through the most widely used wireless interactivity-SMS.

Besides shopping binge, railway booking and gambling, the cash card also has a 'holy' avtaar to it. It can be used for making donations to Siddhivinayak Temple. Once the donor enters his/her basic information in the online form available on the temple's website, he/she will be taken to a payment gateway.

As the 'Itz cash' details are entered, the donation request is processed. The donor has to specify the amount in rupee denominations and the minimum amount is Rs 51.  It is worth mentioning that the maximum amount for which 'Itz cash' can be used is capped at Rs 20,000.

On the sunny side, there is no transaction fee on this cash card. If you have paid Rs 1,000, with Itz card you will buy goods worth the same. In case of railway bookings, however, Itz cash charges a commission of 1.5 per cent on the value of the ticket or Rs 15, whichever is higher.

Well, you also need to rub your eyes well to study the weaknesses of this product. Firstly, just 20 businesses recognise this payment mode. This implies that electricity bills to Reliance Energy [Get Quote] could be paid through an Itz card, but not those to Tata Power [Get Quote].

Similarly, Itz cash has tie-ups with only with two mobile service providers -- Reliance and Airtel. This means that a prepaid Reliance mobile connection and Airtel connection could be topped up with an Itz card, but not for an Orange or BPL connection.

There are some other terms and conditions you must know before you go all out to use this piece of plastic. You can use Itz cash card only if you are above 18 years of age. Purchase for which an Itz cash card is once submitted cannot be cancelled. Also, the prepaid card is not subject to redemption or renewal.
