Thapars enter BPO segment
November 08, 2005 18:03 IST

The Thapar Group of companies has forged a 70:30 joint venture with Option Care Inc, a leading US based healthcare service provider.

Salient Business Solutions is an emerging BPO company catering to the healthcare, financial services and other large corporates. Salient Business Solutions has set up its first centre in Gurgaon. The company employs a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals with experience in areas such as claims processing, collection and maintenance.

Speaking about the new venture, Gautam Thapar, chairman, Salient Business Solutions said, "As a group we have been considering a foray into areas within the services sector that would provide a global perspective to our operations as well as help leverage the substantial brand equity. One of the key differentiators which make this business sustainable for us from the beginning is the partnership approach with Option Care."

"We wanted to partner with an established Indian company who would be committed to our business and also have a strong equity in India to attract quality talent. Both the Thapar Group and Option Care Inc are matched in terms of synergies and objective," said Raj Rai, CEO, Option Care.

Founded in the early 1920s, the Thapar Group operates in a diverse range of businesses that include paper, chemicals, agri-foods, infrastructure, electrical and power transmission equipment.

Through Salient, the Thapar Group aims to leverage its eight-decade-old brand equity and process driven manufacturing expertise in the high-end BPO services in India and abroad.
