Reliance Industries [Get Quote] vice-chairman and managing director Anil Ambani agreed to meet his elder brother, Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of the company, only in the presence of his family members and with a "pre-circulated and pre-agreed agenda".

According to NDTV Profit, in his letter dated January 20, Anil Ambani also said "we can clap only with two hands, Mukeshbhai".

The response came after Mukesh Ambani wrote three letters to him on November 30, December 7 and January 18, the channel said, quoting sources close to the elder Ambani.

In his first letter, Mukesh Ambani said he had been trying to reach out to Anil Ambani and had left several messages.

The Reliance 'ownership issue'

"My aim is to protect the interest of the company," the letter added. In his second letter, Mukesh Ambani complained that Anil Ambani had "spurned repeated attempts" for a meeting.
