The IPCL [Get Quote] board, headed by Mukesh Ambani, on Thursday requested Anil Ambani to reconsider resignation as Vice-chairman and director of the company, sources said.

Anil had tendered resignation on January 3 saying he would not work on the same board as Anand Jain whom he accused of conspiring to divide the Ambani family.

Earlier, Anil Ambani decided not to attend the IPCL board meeting.

Anil had sent a letter to Mukesh on January 3 saying it would be below his esteem to work on the same board as Anand Jain whom he accused of conspiring to divide the Ambani family.

Subsequently, he wrote another letter raising the issue of business links of Jain, a close associate of Mukesh, with IPCL saying there was a conflict of interest as Jain was also a director on IPCL.

Earlier this week Anil wrote another letter to government directors on IPCL board seeking an independent report from a reputed accounting firm on Jain's business relations with the company.
