Tata Tele to appeal against TRAI order January 12, 2005 17:40 IST Tata Teleservices has moved Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal against the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India's order asking the Tatas to withdraw the campaign on its wireless fixed line phone 'Walky', which has been positioned by the company as "freedom of mobility on land line rates." When contacted Tata Teleservices officials confirmed that they have moved the TDSAT. The case will come up for hearing on Wednesday. TRAI had asked the operator to give a compliance report by January 13. Meanwhile the other operator, Reliance Infocomm, who has also been served a directive by the regulator to withdraw its campaign 'Unlimited Cordless' has decided to comply with the TRAI order. "We will comply with the order of TRAI. But we would like to state that ours' was not an advertisement, it was a collateral", a Reliance Infocomm spokesperson said. Last week, TRAI issued directives to Tata Teleservices and Reliance Infocomm for withdrawing advertisements for fixed wireless services as 'Walky' and 'Unlimited Cordless' respectively. 7333: The Latest News on Your Mobile!
