Railway Minister Lalu Prasad on Saturday presented the Rail Budget for 2005-06 in the Lok Sabha amidst an Opposition walkout on the issue of 'tainted' ministers in the UPA government.

As soon as the railway minister rose to present the budget, NDA members were on their feet protesting the presence of 'tainted' persons in the government.

BJP Deputy Leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra said it was an insult' to the democracy that 'tainted' persons were in the Council of Ministers and Prasad was one of them.

The Solictor General had assured the Supreme Court on behalf of the government that the issue of 'tainted' persons would be debated in Parliament, he said adding this should be first sorted out.
