3,500 more BPO jobs coming

Stream, the world's fifth largest outsourcing company, plans to recruit over 3,500 employees in India in the next two years as it plans to broaden its operations in India.

Stream is also planning to increase its business outsourcing to India, banking on the country's proven human resource capability.

"We are planning to recruit 200 personnel per month in India and increasing our total headcount to around 5,000 by the end of year 2007. A majority of the new recruits will be out of our Mumbai offices � Worli and Andheri � while some will be for our new facility," Vineet Mittal, president and MD, Stream Asia Pacific told Business Standard on Wednesday.

The global business-to-business software company has around 1,000 employees at its Worli facility and employs around 500 at its Andheri office.

The company's has been registering strong growth in India and is also expecting an increase in business from the existing clients, resulting in a need for ramping up its operations and headcount.
