Aaj Tak, Headlines Today launched in US

December 05, 2005 15:25 IST

India's leading news channels Aaj Tak and Headlines Today have been launched in the US market.

The TV Today Network has teamed up with Echostar Dish Network, a satellite service provider for South Asian programming. Both the channels will now be available as part of the mega pack and the news add on package on the dish network.

"Aaj Tak and Headlines Today have been able to successfully widen the viewership base for news in India. This step will further widen the base for Indian news internationally," Aroon Purie, chairman and managing director of TV Today said.

The channels were launched in the US on December 1. "There is a large Indian diaspora in the US. Dish Network is the established market leader amongst the South Asian viewers while TV Today Network is the leading news broadcaster in the subcontinent," G Krishnan, CEO of TV Today Network said.
