March 01, 2004 16:03 IST

GVM International Ltd, a licensee of Tommy Hilfiger Licensing Inc, on Monday entered into an exclusive agreement with Titan Industries Ltd for marketing and distribution of Tommy Hilfiger watches in India.

As per the sub-licensing agreement, these watches would be available at internationally renowned designer brand Tommy Hilfiger flagship stores, Titan showrooms and departmental stores as well as at select 'Time Zone' and other premium multi-brand watch outlets in early 2004, the company said.

"Tommy Hilfiger will not only complement our portfolio in the premium segment but will also strengthen our position in the fast growing designer watch market in India," Titan Industries chief operating officer Bijou Kurien said.

The watch collection to be available in India would be priced between Rs 3,500 and Rs 8,000.

For Titan, this is the second alliance with a foreign company, the first being a joint venture with Timex Corporation of the US. Titan parted ways with Timex a few years ago.
