The Confederation of Indian Industry on Thursday elected Sunil Kant Munjal and Yogi C Deveshwar as the president and vice president, respectively, for 2004-05.

Sunil Kant Munjal, Managing Director and CEO, Hero Corporate Service Ltd, was the vice president of the chamber and has also been the chairman of its northern region chapter, a CII media release said.

Yogi Deveshwar is the Chairman of ITC Limited.

The two were appointed at CII's first national council meeting in New Delhi.

Munjal, who was the CII vice president for the fiscal ended March 31, 2004, replaced Anand Mahindra, Managing Director of automobile maker Mahindra and Mahindra.

N Srinivasan also took over the Director General of CII from Tarun Das, who will continue to serve CII as Chief Mentor for three years.
