The company's 100 per cent subsidiary Effective Teleservices Pvt Ltd, which has been operating its call centre from Gandhinagar, aims to expand its operations.

The spread will be restricted to Gujarat as ETI believes Gandhinagar offers better quality of life for ETI employees than other hubs like Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

"ETI started operations in India in September last year with a capacity of 100 seats. Our parent company has now decided to outsource 2000 jobs during the next two years, including 1000 jobs in the next year," Jim Iyoob, director of operations of ETI said on Monday.

"As our operations in India help ETI Inc cut costs by around 40-50 per cent and we have been able to hire good software developers and engineers cheaply, we have every reason to expand our operations in India," he added.

ETI, a player in the call centre and web sales solution business, caters as an alternate sales channel for BellSouth Inc, a Fortune 50 company based in Atlanta. It operates two call centres in Texas.
