MTNL's new tariff for basic, Net users

January 09, 2004 16:52 IST

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd on Friday announced a special tariff plan for basic service users with Rs 160 monthly rental aiming at low end users.

Under this special plan, there would be no free calls as available under other tariff packages.

The company also announced two packages for Internet users.

In a package with a monthly rental of Rs 500, outgoing access would be allowed with no telephone usage charges, A K Girotra, executive director, MTNL (Delhi), told reporters in New Delhi. Under this scheme, Internet usage charges payable would be at prevailing rates, he added.

Under the second plan with a monthly rental of Rs 700, outgoing access to MTNL Internet would be allowed with unlimited usage of phone and Internet at no additional cost.

Similarly, MTNL has also introduced Rs 100 monthly rental budget plan for mobile services.

All the new plans would be in addition to the existing tariff plans, Girotra added.
