Sergey Brin and Larry Page, creators of Internet search engine Google, have joined the Forbes magazine list of world billionaires, which has a record 587 names this year compared with 476 in 2003, said a report on BBC News.

With a wealth of $1 billion each, Sergey Brin and Larry Page have been ranked 552^nd on the list.

Quoting Forbes, BBC News said the recovery in share prices over the past year had helped to swell the number of billionaires.

Nine Indians too feature in the list of Forbes billionaires, which is topped by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.

Also amongst the billionaires is Harry Potter author J K Rowling.
