Six of Hindustan Lever's mega brands -- Wheel, Brooke Bond, Lux, Rin, Lifebuoy and Fair & Lovely -- each contribute revenues of over a $100 million annually to the FMCG major's top line.

D Sundararam, finance director, declined to comment on the consolidated contribution of the six mega brands to the total revenues.

However, he said that Wheel was one of the leading brands of the company with annual revenues of well over Rs 700 crore (Rs 7 billion).

M S Banga, chairman, said, "The company's processed food business is likely to be the next growth leaders in the current financial year. We are expecting existing power brands such as Knorr, Annapurna and Kissan could be part of the mega brands portfolio in this year."

Banga also said the company will be entering into the water business this year. "We are expecting to complete the test marketing of the product in this year," he said.

Banga indicated that the company's ayurvedic brand - Ayush and Hindustan Lever Network - the direct marketing arm of the company - are also likely to be included in the power brand category. The company has around 30 power brands, Banga said.
