Maruti to set up Centre of Excellence

Maruti Udyog Ltd, country's largest carmaker, is to invest Rs 10 crore (Rs 100 million) for setting up a 'Centre of Excellence' in collaboration with its suppliers.

The centre would provide consultancy and training support to Maruti's suppliers and sales network to enable them achieve international standards in quality, cost, service and technology orientation, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Monday.

Maruti has contributed Rs 10 crore to the corpus of the centre, which is registered as a 'not for profit' society, it added.
