10 SIA-Mumbai flights from end-Oct

September 24, 2003 17:42 IST

After having launched a thrice-weekly service to Bangalore in August, premier international carrier Singapore Airlines said on Wednesday that it would enhance its frequencies to Mumbai from seven to ten flights a week by October end.

The additional services to Mumbai are part of SIA's northern winter schedule frequency expansion plan, which also includes destinations like Auckland, Osaka, Bali and Jakarta, the airline said in a release.

As part of the winter schedule, which runs between October-end and March, SIA was also planning to restore many of its flights, which were suspended earlier this year, primarily on account of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.

The capacity offered in the winter schedule would be back to nearly the same level as a year ago, it said, adding SIA would continue to monitor the trend of recovery of traffic and adjust capacity to meet the demand.
