Coke, Pepsi godowns attacked by PWG naxals

BS Regional Bureau in Hyderabad | March 25, 2003 13:09 IST

The out-lawed People's War Group attacked gowdowns of Coca-cola and Pepsi soft drinks in Prakasham and Ananthapur districts, protesting against the US-led war on Iraq and fake encounters in the state.

A group of armed naxals, including two women, attacked the Coca-cola godown at Yerragondapalem, police said in Hyderabad on Monday.

The ultras destroyed over six cases of Coca-cola bottles and raised slogans against the US and UK and demanding withdrawal of their forces from Iraq.

In an other incident in Anantapur district, naxals assaulted a godown of Pepsi bottles near a railway station on the outskirts of Anantapur  town, police added.
