Pakistan business delegation to visit Delhi in July

June 27, 2003 16:37 IST

A delegation of 100 Pakistani businessmen would visit New Delhi next week to take part in a meeting of the India-Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The Pakistani delegation is expected to reach New Delhi by July two for the meeting being organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation would be led by the IPCCI co-president, senator Ilyas Ahmed Bilour and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry president, Riaz Ahmed Tata.

The FICCI president A C Muthiah invited the Pakistani businessmen to India, Bilour said in Islamabad on Friday.

He said it is Pakistan's turn to nominate the president of IPCCI, and India will be nominating its co-president.

The last IPCCI meeting was hosted by Islamabad in May 2001.

The delegation, which had originally planned to travel by the Lahore-New Delhi bus, would now come via Dubai, as there are no firm indications about when the bus service would be resumed, Bilour said.
