Wipro arm in pact with US firm

Wipro Infotech, Middle East and Asia Pacific the information technology arm of Wipro Limited, announced on Thursday a strategic alliance with the US based Sistina Software Inc, the premier storage infrastructure software company delivering data-sharing solutions.

Through the alliance, Wipro Infotech will provide support and implementation services to customers of Sistina in India, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, a company statement said.

The alliance would help Wipro to build on its competency to provide implementation and sustenance services to the growing base of customers who have adopted Linux for their enterprise, it said.

Together, the statement said, Wipro Infotech and Sistina are responding to strong demand for service and support transactions from a variety of industries that include customers in the financial, telecommunications and manufacturing segments.

The partnership provided a simplified process for customer who required service and support transactions involving Sistina GFS implementations, it added.
