Maruti IPO oversubscribed 5.6 times

Maruti Udyog Ltd's public offer was on Wednesday oversubscribed by 5.6 times with bids for 5.18 crore (51.8 million) shares pouring in on the penultimate day of the issue.

On a cumulative basis, the company has received bids for 40.47 crore (404.7 million) shares as against an issue size of 7.22 crore (72 million) shares, according to the data available with Bombay Stock Exchange.

The maximum bids ranged between Rs 120 to 125 per share while largest number of bids continued to come in at Rs 120 per share as against the floor price of Rs 115.

The company has received bids for 16.53 crore (165.3 million) shares and 15.38 crore (153.8 million) shares at Rs 120 and Rs 125 per share respectively.
