TCS is India's top IT exporter: Nasscom

Tata Consultancy Services has been ranked as the top IT software and services exporter in the country by National Association of Software and Service Companies.

The Tata group company, which registered revenues of Rs 4,545 crore (Rs 45.45 billion) during 2002-03, was followed by Infosys Technologies and Wipro Technologies with revenues of Rs 3,543 crore (Rs 35.43 billion) and 2,787 crore (Rs 27.87 billion) respectively, according to Nasscom's Top 20 IT software and service exporters in India (excluding the ITES-BPO sector) rankings released in New Delhi on Thursday.

The combined revenues of the top 20 software and service exporters in the area of IT services, products and technology services was Rs 20,746 crore (Rs 207.46 billion) in 2002-03, an 18 per cent growth over revenues of Rs 17,607 crore (Rs 176.07 billion) posted in 2001-02.

The Indian software and services exports industry recorded revenues of Rs 34,800 crore (Rs 348 billion) in 2002-03, an 18.4 per cent rise from Rs 29,400 crore (Rs 294 billion) in the previous year.

Satyam Computer Services, HCL Technologies and Patni Computer Systems bagged the fourth, fifth and sixth place with sales of Rs 2,003 crore (RS 20.03 billion), Rs 1530 crore (Rs 15.30 billion) and Rs 914 crore (Rs 9.14 billion) respectively.
