i-flex's Hukku, Time's 'survivor of tech crash'

July 03, 2003 13:41 IST

Rajesh Hukku, chairman and managing director, i-flex Solutions Ltd, has been named by the Time magazine as one of the tech leaders who have survived the technology crash.

According to i-flex, Time, in its special feature, 'Survivors of the tech crash', said Hukku has made visionary contribution in scripting India's first truly global software product success story.

"This year, Time's survey of global tech leaders salutes the survivors: those executives who have made it through all the punishment and came out with their businesses not just intact, but thriving. Their tales of survival may even help the rest of the tech sector get through the century's next 97 years," i-flex, quoting the magazine, said in a statement in Bangalore on Thursday.

"India exports $9.5 billion in code annually, but almost all of it is written under contract for mammoth outsiders such as Microsoft. I want to change that," Hukku said.

"The Japanese and Koreans make good cars and sell them worldwide. We Indians make sophisticated software. It is time for a 'Made in India' brand," he said.
