Ciber, iGate Global form joint venture

Ciber Inc and iGate Global Solutions Ltd, formerly Mascot Systems Ltd, on Tuesday announced an agreement to form an India-based joint venture to offer software services, including applications development, enterprise application and support, and IT outsourcing services.

Named Ciber India Pvt Ltd, of which Ciber would be the majority owner, the JV will provide clients with immediate access to an enhanced, cost-effective and high-quality delivery option, a joint statement said.

Ciber and its subsidiaries provide IT consulting and services to Fortune 500 and middle market companies and public sector clients.

"With three decades of strong and established relationships across multiple industry segments, Ciber offers a robust front-end operation," it said.

iGate Global Solutions, a subsidiary of iGate Corporation, is a leading global offshore IT services company based in Bangalore.

With six offshore development centres in Asia and more than 3,000 employees around the world, IGS brings an "extremely strong and mature" offshore delivery capability to the new organisation, it said.

The JV will provide Ciber with an onwership position in an offshore delivery option that it has been offering customers. IGS will benefit from increased business through an extended client base and access to a large-scale organisation.
