December 03, 2003 18:10 IST

Business Intelligence software company SAS on Wednesday said it would double its headcount in R&D operations in India to 100 next year.

The Pune based SAS Global Services, which is part of SAS's global R&D outfit, is focused on developing software products and solutions in the BI space, a company release said in New Delhi.

"In India, we have worked successfully with our global counterparts in the United States and Europe. We have done this by hiring skilled resources, demonstrating remote co-development capabilities. These will continue as we expand in 2004," Vivek Gokarn, CEO and MD, SAS India said.

"The accomplishments and technical skills of our SGS development team has provided an impetus to further invest in R&D operations in India," Keith Collins, senior VP, SAS Inc, said.
