Sanjay Agarwal's PC extended to May 24

Home Trade CEO Sanjay Agarwal, prime accused in the Rs 1.5 billion government securities scam, was on Tuesday further remanded to police custody till May 24 in Nagpur even as the Crime Investigation Department of Maharashtra sought the custody of co-accused Ketan Sheth who is now in the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation till May 27.

Judicial Magistrate First Class J G Dorle, after hearing prosecutor Prashant Sathianathan, said his court would send the papers to the special court in Mumbai in this regard so that Sheth's custody could be transferred to the state CID for further interrogation.

Sheth is director of Giltedge Management Services.

Sathianathan told the court that the state CID officers needed further time to interrogate Agarwal on the large number of over 1,500 pages of computer data and 75 bank accounts, which the police had detected.
