SEBI Act to be amended in 2002-03
Proposing a series of measures to strengthen the capital market and the financial sector, Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha today said legislative changes would be introduced in Parliament in the SEBI Act for investor's protection.
Foreign institutional investors portfolio investment would not not be subject to sectoral limits for foreign direct
investment except in certain specified sectors, he told the Lok Sabha presenting the 2002-03 Union Budget.
Corporatisation of stock exchanges is expected to be completed during the course of this year, he said.
