HLL ups some product prices by up to 7%

India's largest consumer goods company Hindustan Lever Ltd has raised product prices in some personal care and foods segments by up to seven per cent, a company spokesman said on Thursday.

"Product prices in certain segments have been raised from January," the spokesman told Reuters.

HLL, which is 51 per cent owned by Anglo-Dutch Unilever Plc, makes the popular Lux brand of soap and Close-Up brand of toothpaste.

Prominent products to have undergone product revisions include Lux soap.

A 100 gm pack of Lux will cost 4.5 per cent more, while the price of a 150 gm variant of the same brand -- Lux International -- has been raised by 6.3 per cent.

A 150 gm pack of Close-up will be dearer by 6.4 per cent.
